Oh callooh, callay! Those blossoming daffodils and twittering titmice can only mean one thing: it's time to fire up The 5th Annual Iowahawk Earth Week Virtual Cruise-In!
Each April this site pays homage to Mother Earth -- the Ultimate MILF™ -- by celebrating her most magnificent creation: the internal combustion vehicle. Over the years I have been proud to feature hundreds of reader-submitted cars, motorcycles, boats, bulldozers, tanks, jets and battleships, proving that when it comes to grassroots carbon activism Iowahawk readers have no peer. To review:
2007
This year's edition will coincide with official World Earth Week April 16-25 and promises to be the best Cruise-In yet, so I'm encouraging early entries. Do you have a righteous ride you'd like featured? Send that sucker in, but please use the following guidelines:
Submit your heap(s) by email at the link on the left sidebar, using "Earth Week Cruise" as the subject line. Include a photo (or photo link, YouTube video, etc.) along with a brief and creative description.
Please only submit those vehicles personally owned, operated, and/or stolen by you. I realize there are many interesting vehicles you may have seen on the internet, but the the IEWVCI is all about taking personal responsibility for climate change.
Deadline is April 25, 2010 -- late entries will be stowed away for next year's edition.
At the conclusion one lucky entrant will be chosen Top Eco-liminator and awarded the grand prize of One Million Iowahawk Carbon Credits. Bring your "A game" and you just might join the pantheon of our previous champion carbonators like Ponycar Preston Petersen, Alabama Rocket Trucker John Brossard, Aussie Amphibian Assaulter David Archibald, and United States President Barack Obama!
