After learning about the government's brilliant old car vandalism program, I set out in the Coupe of Justice over the past eight days in search of candidate clunkers to turn in for that sweet $4500 trade-in bounty. In the end, I saw over 1000 obsolete, gas-guzzling, expired warrantee heaps, but not a single one I'd swap for a fleet of fully-option Priuses. Keep your cash and sodium silicate, Uncle Sam -- I'd rather see these on the road.
