Yow, what a month. Blog posting was hampered by a variety of car-related distractions -- finishing the coupe, a few hot rod shows (including Detroit Autorama and the Lonestar Round Up), and couple of articles for the new Garage Magazine #13. The "Chicks Rule!" issue is a corker, featuring some of the coolest girls on planet earth -- like coverbabe and tattoo legend Kat Von D -- and is guest edited by the ultimate in coolgirlness, Shirley "Don't Call Me Cha Cha" Muldowney.
Inside you'll find my interview and profile of up-and-coming Pro Stock drag race princess Nicole Lyons, who is poised to become the first African American woman to compete in the NHRA's big leagues. And, I should note, very easy on the eyes...
Chicks Rule, indeed. Get down to your local B&N / Borders / WalMart / 7-11 and pick up a copy, and tell 'em I sent you.
To cap off the month I motored down to Austin for the LSRU and to attend the Garage Magazine party at South Austin Speed Shop, where the aforementioned Kat Von D was feted as the Garage Gal of the Year. Congrats Kat! My own special Gal of the Year and I danced the night away to the intoxicating rhythms of Honky and Nashville Pussy, and spent some quality chitchat time with my GarageMag boss Jesse James and his lovely bride Sandra Bullock.
Bah, enough of the namedropping! Regular posting resumes soon. Until then, please enjoy this latest monthly home movie.
