TRAVELIN' MAN
Last new post here for while, as I am on the road for the next week. But I'll try to sneak in a rerun or two while waiting for my cart at the goatport.
THE HOUSE RECOMMENDS
Keen eyes will espy a special new name on my blogroll, the introduction of which requires me to relate a little backstory. Last week the Coupe of Justice got a feature post on Jalopnik, which resulted in a lengthy email exchange with the incomparable COOP. If you are unfamiliar with the name, Coop is among the most influential pop surrealist/"lowbrow" artists working today. He is also way, way cooler than you will ever hope to be.
"But Dave," you might protest, "I'm think I'm pretty cool. I drive a late model Grand Cherokee and have a 3 handicap." Let me ask you a few questions, friend. Do you, like Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, have a House Industries font package named after you? Do you have a studio is in a refurbished Pabst brewery? Do you drive a bitchin' 29 A Sedan rod? Does your job involve drawing pictures of hot rods and naked chicks with big tatas? If you answered "no" to any of the above, keep working on it.
It also turns out that Coop blogs at the enigmatically named Positive Ape Index, chockablock with coolness. Drop by and tell 'em Iowahawk sent you.

HAWKEYE HOOSEGOW HONEY OF THE WEEK
This week's cutie from Des Moines' Polk County Jail is the beguiling alleged parole violatrix Becki Lynn, nominated my sharpeyed reader "Cletus from Des Moines."
True, she does have the scowl to intimidate the typical holding cell "fish." But imagine a quick snip of the bangs and a heavy application of lipstick, and our comely detainee gives an aura of Bettie Page retro naughty! Thanks "Cletus," and good luck during visiting hours.
WHAT IS WAS, WAS FOOTBALL
Getting down to the wire! In the latest NCAA top 25 Bounty Method ratings (for games through October 24), Texas retakes the top spot, with USC rapidly closing in. Complete NCAA Division I-A rankings, here. And please, pray for my Hawkeyes as they defend Floyd of Rosedale again
