Otherwise known as the wooden cable spool in my garage, where foreign correspondent Tim Blair and I are busy filing updates and nursing hangovers from last night's reader get-together. Newest updates at the top!

7:57 PM: By the way, many thanks to everyone who came out to the Ten Cat Tavern for the Blair-Burge meet last night. I had no idea I had such an attractive, intelligent, and refined readership, which was a crushing disappointment. Not a single axe murderer in the bunch! Met least one other blogger, US Citizen from gun-friendly Traction Control, go over and say hi from me.
7:25 PM : Fresh exit polls from my liquor cabinet
Pabst Blue Ribbon, Milwaukee, WI.
"I really like McCain's strong red white and blue values and meat & potatoes appeal. But I'm also grateful for the ironic appeal I have to Obama's urban hipster douchebag base. So I guess I'm undecided."
White Wine, Columbia Valley, WA
"Who am I voting for? You can't be serious."

Shiner Bock, Shiner, TX
"McCain, damn straight."
Goose Island India Pale Ale, Chicago IL
"As a pretentious Chicago craft brew, I should probably vote for Obama, but I'm worried about how his tax plan will affect beer price cuts."
Eight Ball, Milwaukee WI
"Bros before hos."

5:02 PM Tammi Jo back from voting; reports light turnout, noisy dryers. Turns out she mistook laundromat for polling place. Concern whether her ballot survived rinse cycle.
3:54 PM: Burritos consumed, off to wash it down with extra large shakes from DQ. Wondering if we will be able to make it past chemical weapon sniffer dogs in Grant Park tonight.
3:26 PM: 16-year old Hawkette is back from high school, where they have also held a mock election. "Who won?" "I dunno, I didn't vote." That's my girl!
3:07 PM: 13-year old Hawkspawn arrives home with early results of middle school mock election: Obama 312, McCain 87, Ron Paul 1. And thanks to a diligent karate-fueled write-in bully campaign organized by my son, Chuck Norris runs runs a strong third with 17!
