I don't know why it is, but I seem to be lucking out a lot lately. For instance, my brother & his brood were visiting Chicago last weekend and wanted to do a little sightseeing. So we took 'em down to Navy Pier on Friday for a ride on the big ferris wheel.
While waiting in line, some sudden big noise:
Yep, the plane heralding the arrival of the Navy Blue Angels. Unbeknownst to us the Chicago Air & Water Show was about to begin, and we were going to get an accidental front row seat from atop the ferris wheel. The Blue Angels treated us to some crazy close flybys, a little bit of which I was able to capture on my cell phone:

Afterwards, a lazy ride on a taxi boat up to Marina City. Aah, it's good to have Chicago at your feet.




I love your presence of mind. You managed to took a video of it.
